Mary (Saung Oo) May
Mary (Saung Oo) May is a research technician in the Edlow Lab from Myanmar. She got her BS and MSE in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. During her studies, she spent three years in the Institute for Cell Engineering at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where she helped develop a novel multiplexed neutralization assay for profiling anti-influenza humoral immunity. Her master’s thesis compared different assays used to comprehensively characterize the roles of linear epitopes in neutralization in hemagglutinin protein of influenza virus.
While at Hopkins, she was an ambassador for International Students at Hopkins (ISAH) and member of multiple multicultural groups on campus. Outside of school and work, she loves to do creative things like paint, sew, crochet, and embroider.
