Alexis Cooley, MD
Alexis Cooley, MD, is a postdoctoral research fellow in Dr. Edlow's lab. She earned her MD from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2025 and aspires to pursue an OB-GYN residency in the United States while building her research career. Passionate about women's health, she is especially drawn to gynecologic oncology and advocacy for underserved populations.
During and after medical school, Alexis worked as an assistant physician in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery with a focus on endometriosis and spent a year at a regional breast cancer detection and treatment center, where she gained extensive experience in high-volume clinical settings and patient counseling. A native Spanish speaker, she is committed to expanding access to care for Spanish-speaking and border communities. She is excited to expand her skills in translational research by joining the Edlow Lab and to contribute to work that improves outcomes for pregnant patients and their children.
