Lisa Larson

Lisa earned her Bsc. in Clinical Nutrition from New York University, summa cum laude. She subsequently worked at Columbia University, managing a broad portfolio of phase I/II/III breast cancer clinical trials.

After this, her interest in perinatal health led her to Denmark, where she was awarded a government fellowship in research and earned an MSc. In Human Nutrition. Her work in Denmark focused on diet and blood pressure during pregnancy.

She completed her PhD at Cornell University where she was an NIH T32 trainee in maternal and child nutrition, studying the role of maternal choline supplementation on offspring development and the maternal immune system, for which she has won several research awards. She employs translational approaches (RNA sequencing, interventional trials, and epidemiological analyses) to probe her research questions.

She is particularly passionate about improving perinatal health outcomes for the birthing person and the offspring and about health equity.

When she is not in her office or in the lab, Lisa enjoys spending time with her son, William, her husband, Sean, and her dog and cat.
